Description

How has the COVID-19 pandemic impacted our sense of self and emotional resilience?
What role can creative expression play in analyzing and understanding the emotions triggered by the pandemic?

In the workshop titled “When You Sleep, the World Empties: Discovering the Human Element through the CineDramatic Method”, participants will be invited to explore their post-pandemic identities through Dramatherapy. Using creative expression and improvisation, we will “dialogue” with the pandemic, personifying it to better understand its impact on our emotional resilience and evolving sense of self. Together, we will reflect on how the challenges posed by the pandemic can be transformed into personal growth.

The CineDramatic Method, developed by Vasiliki Moka and Evika Mavroeidi, is a synthetic approach that integrates Christian Metz’s theory, cinematic tools, and the techniques and theory of Drama Therapy.

Following the CineDramatic Method, the workshop leverages cinematic storytelling to invite both personal and collective introspection in a rapidly changing world.

*This workshop is part of the International Dramatherapy Conference titled “Human and Nature,” organized by the European Federation of Dramatherapy and the World Alliance of Dramatherapy.

**The workshop is experiential and will involve experimentation on both an individual and group level.
