Workshop Description

Long before we acquired spoken language, the body was the primary means of human communication. We will not approach this from a Darwinian perspective, but we can say in broad terms that the “first” human related to their environment and to others through posture, rhythm, proximity, gaze, and movement. This pre-verbal, embodied knowledge did not disappear with the emergence of language. It remains active, as a form of memory and presence, often concealed beneath words.

This workshop is an invitation to pause verbal speech for a while and engage in a bodily check-in, not only with ourselves, but also with our embodied experience as it unfolds in interaction with other bodies.

What do I notice when I bring my attention to my breath?
How does my body inform me when something needs care or space?
In what ways can my body “speak” today—through movement, stillness, intensity, rhythm, silence, and more?

In this workshop, we will explore the relationship we currently have with our bodies, not in order to correct or change it, but to observe it with curiosity and respect. We will make space for forms of non-verbal communication, both individual and collective, allowing the body to function as a carrier of meaning, as free as possible from thought and interpretation.

The workshop will include grounding and embodiment exercises, experiential role exploration, experimentation with physical expression and collective movement, as well as creative moments of reflection. Through small performative actions, we will investigate how the body relates, responds, and synchronizes with other bodies, without the mediation of language.

Together, we will seek ways to reconnect with the rhythms, needs, and “language” of the body, a language that predates spoken words, yet remains deeply present in our everyday experience.

No prior experience is required.
Only a willingness to listen inwardly and to remain in contact with what emerges.
