Workshop Description

What personality traits do you notice in yourself?
Are you aware of all of them?
And who are you when no one else is around?

In this Dramatherapy workshop, we’ll draw inspiration from beloved Greek TV characters of the 90s and explore the opposing aspects of our inner selves through role development and playful embodiment.

How?

According to Konstantin Stanislavski’s theory (2008), the development of a role begins with the “truth of the circumstances.” The person stepping into a role is invited to fully believe in the fictional setting and to live the character through it. This approach is grounded in the concept of the “magic if”, a key element of Stanislavski’s system:

“What would happen if I were in the same situation as the character?”
This question allows the individual to personally connect with the role and to discover genuine emotional responses through the experience.

So… what would happen if you stepped into the shoes of Christina Markatou (Anna Panagiotopoulou in Dolce Vita) or Konstantinos Katakouzinos (Haris Romas in Konstantinou & Elenis) just for a moment?

In Dramatherapy, the “magic if” becomes a powerful tool. It allows participants to safely experience and explore emotional states through role simulation, outside the constraints of everyday life. From a therapeutic lens, these imagined scenarios become gateways into hidden or suppressed feelings, often emerging during the reflective sharing that follows role-play.

Together, we’ll experiment with roles and opposites within the self, with a focus on expression over performance allowing playfulness, contrast, and curiosity to lead the way.
